The Canadian Society of Zoologists is a professional organization dedicated to the enhancement of education and research in zoology both at home in Canada and worldwide.
In recognition of CSZ’s status as a bilingual society and in pursuit of the society’s long-term goal to increase the participation and quality of experience for currently under-represented groups within CSZ (including Francophones), we are happy to announce a new initiative to ensure all CSZ-SCZ Blog posts are available in both English and French.
Over the coming months, current and upcoming blog posts will be updated to include a French translation (all CSZ-SCZ Blog posts so far are written in English). The translation will be produced using a combination of an online translation tool and review by French-speaking volunteers.
In the longer term, we also hope to build the capacity to receive French language submissions and provide them with the same level of editorial support as English submissions.
Le blog de la CSZ-SCZ devient bilingue !
La Société Canadienne de Zoologie est une organisation professionnelle qui se consacre à l’amélioration de l’éducation et de la recherche en zoologie au Canada et dans le monde entier.
En reconnaissance du statut de la SCZ en tant que société bilingue et dans la poursuite de l’objectif à long terme de la société d’accroître la participation et la qualité de l’expérience des groupes actuellement sous-représentés au sein de la SCZ (y compris les francophones), nous sommes heureux d’annoncer une nouvelle initiative visant à assurer que tous les articles du blogue de la SCZ-SCZ sont disponibles en anglais et en français.
Au cours des prochains mois, les articles actuels et à venir seront mis à jour pour inclure une traduction en français (tous les articles du blog CSZ-SCZ sont jusqu’à présent rédigés en anglais). La traduction sera réalisée à l’aide d’un outil de traduction en ligne et d’une révision par des bénévoles francophones.
À plus long terme, nous espérons également renforcer notre capacité à recevoir des articles en français et à leur fournir le même niveau de soutien éditorial qu’aux articles en anglais.
